Well, this is not so ‘new’. Even I’ve been there few times. Yeah, that’s ‘Phuket’. Phuket is a restaurant in Yogyakarta, special in Thai meals. Firstly opened few years ago, Phuket always full of people eating there. Now it has two outlets, in North Ringroad and Jl. Dr. Sutomo (please correct if It’s wrong).

What is ‘mozaru’? Mozaru is baked rice with mozzarella cheese on it. Based on my culinary experiences, I could only find it HERE in Zenbu.
Zenbu is an open kitchen restaurant that adopted the concept of Japanese fusion in every food. “Positive eating, positive living” is their motto. They use no MSG, and we could find [...]

Spicy curry? Martabak? Ow come on… India has more than that. OK, firstly, it’s about the name. Sangam (संगम) means confluence of rivers. The owners, two frenchmen who had stayed in India for years, built ‘Sangam House’ about 3 months ago at the western-side of Jl. Kaliurang km. 5,6 (Pandega Siwi 14), Yogyakarta. It holds [...]

I had a chat with my mom yesterday. She called me and asked some question about cake ingredients. I gave her cookbooks for her birthday gift, but I forgot to consider that they’re in English!!! For the best chef-in-da-house like her it didn’t take too much time to practice the instructions, until she found some [...]

After a long day at Malioboro (with Nurul), it still felt so okay for continuing the night outside the dorm. First, we took dinner at “Bakso Lombok Uleg” (Jakal km. ±6, in front of Mirota). Oh, another taste of meatballs. They put green bird’s eye chilies into a bowl and crushed it right before they [...]

What is in your mind when you hear the name ‘Raminten’? Javanese women who sell jamu (herbal medicine)? Well that’s what came into my mind. It’s not wrong anyway, House of Raminten serves jamu (in a different way of course).
It’s located next to Mirota Bakery (Jl. Faridan M. Noto, Yogyakarta). It’s so catchy at the [...]
