Celebrating it’s 60th anniversary, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) held a musical concert by World Peace Orchestra. World Peace Orchestra is a musical group conducted by Dwiki Dharmawan. They combined various kind of traditional music instruments in the style of orchestra. I was so excited to attend the show, even since the day before. Fortunately I got the ticket!!! *many pepople said it was SOLD OUT*.
On last night’s event, UGM campaigned “Vote Komodo for the New 7 Wonders”. Rector of the university, Prof. Ir. Sudjarwadi, M.Eng, Ph.D, symbolically voted for it by clicking on the link after the clip of Komodo Island profile.
Here’s the line up of the performers:
- Dwiki Darmawan and World Peace Orchestra, collaboration of numerous genius musicians
- Krisdayanti, Indonesian diva
- Dewa Budjana, genius guitarist, popular as a soloist and part of GIGI
- Dira Sugandi, famous female singer with a great talent, used to perform in jazz music events (Bali jazz, Jak jazz, Java Jazz, etc.) with Incognito, Keith Martin, Jason Mrasz, and many more
- Penny Candrarini, ’sinden’ from Solo, has performed not only in Indonesia, but also in Singapore, Australia, Holland, Spain, China, Mexico, and USA

Tha dancers are Indonesians. How about the dance itself...?
Some pictures are blurry because it’s quite hard to take pictures of moving objects under a dim light without flashes (and from seated position -though I took the VIP-, as you could see… heads everywhere…
). But it’s OK, better watched it live, indeed…
Hey, don’t forget to vote for Pulau Komodo as one of world’s 7 wonders here!
